LeBron James’ 21-point first quarter was filled with ridiculous shots

James is cookin’, but Boston isn’t going anywhere.

We knew Game 2 LeBron James was incoming, and even then, James wow’d us during the opening quarter of Game 2 against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. He constantly does absurd, sensational things, and he was right back at it again on Tuesday.

When the frame ended, James had 21 points while Boston had just 23. Of course, the rest of Cleveland’s supporting cast didn’t exactly do much supporting — the Cavaliers only led 27-23 after one.

But enough about that — look at the type of shots James was knocking down. This is indefensible.

In general, James’ jumper was working.

Here’s his first quarter shot chart.

James is going to have a huge scoring explosion, and we knew Game 2 LeBron tends to do that, as SB Nation’s Paul Flannery detailed this week. All things considered, Boston survived his early burst as well as they could.

We’ll see if LeBron can do it all.
