Wizards, Mavericks Had No Interest In Trading Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving There had been reporting that LeBron James was interesting in teaming up with one of his former teammates when he picked a new team. The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers were linked to Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving, respectively.
However, neither Davis' current team, the Washington Wizards, nor Irving's current team, the Dallas Mavericks, had any interest in trading either player. In addition, James, nor his agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, made no demands of teams that they must trade for Davis or Irving to get the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
Ultimately, James picked the Philadelphia 76ers for the upcoming season. It's expected that both Davis and Irving will start the season with the Wizards and Mavericks, respectively.
