Terry Rozier Attorneys File Motion To Dismiss Two Charges Over Text Messages Terry Rozier's attorneys filed a motion to dismiss two charges over a text message sent by a co-defendant on Friday. Rozier is accused of manipulating his performance for a $100,000 bribe as part of a larger gambling scheme. Rozier's attorney David Markus argued that texts sent by co-conspirator Deniro Laster prove that his client had no idea about any alleged bets. "Dont tell chum bout the bet," Laster wrote, according to the filing. "Chum" is Rozier's nickname, the filing noted. The recipient then answered, "Hell no." Markus argued that the texts "should end the case" because "one does not hide a bet from the person who supposedly sold it." Federal prosecutors responded that they have "developed evidence from multiple sources that this text chain does not relate to sports gambling." Rozier's trial is currently scheduled for Feb. 8, 2027. Two of his co-defendants, Marves Fairley and Damon Jones, have pled guilty.
