Bulls’ Interest In Bennedict Mathurin Is ‘Overstated’
The Chicago Bulls’ interest in Bennedict Mathurin is “overstated,” sources told Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic.
The Bulls continue to emphasize the need for roster and cap flexibility, and are not interested in long-term contracts.
The Bulls currently have a $9.4 million room exception available.
The Pelicans have also been linked with Mathurin.
Mathurin averaged 17.6 points and 5.4 rebounds last season.

Kansas is set to hire Sam Strantz as the school’s new Executive Director of Front Office Strategy and Operations, reported Pete Thamel of ESPN.
Strantz was hired from the Rockets’ front office.
The role is set to build out a front office model with a focus on adding value to revenue generating programs.

Terry Rozier Attorneys File Motion To Dismiss Two Charges Over Text Messages
Terry Rozier’s attorneys filed a motion to dismiss two charges over a text message sent by a co-defendant on Friday.
Rozier is accused of manipulating his performance for a $100,000 bribe as part of a larger gambling scheme.
Rozier’s attorney David Markus argued that texts sent by co-conspirator Deniro Laster prove that his client had no idea about any alleged bets.
“Dont tell chum bout the bet,” Laster wrote, according to the filing. “Chum” is Rozier’s nickname, the filing noted.
The recipient then answered, “Hell no.”
Markus argued that the texts “should end the case” because “one does not hide a bet from the person who supposedly sold it.”
Federal prosecutors responded that they have “developed evidence from multiple sources that this text chain does not relate to sports gambling.”
Rozier’s trial is currently scheduled for Feb. 8, 2027.
Two of his co-defendants, Marves Fairley and Damon Jones, have pled guilty.
