CJ McCollum, Hawks Agree To One-Year, $21M Contract

The Atlanta Hawks and veteran guard C.J. McCollum have agreed to a one-year, $21 million contract. McCollum’s new deal will include a $7.5 million trade bonus, according to additional reporting from Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

McCollum joined Atlanta after a trade where the Washington Wizards acquired Trae Young. The veteran combo guard immediately became a stabilizing force for the Hawks backcourt. Atlanta went 19-4 with McCollum in the starting lineup.

In the Hawks first-round playoff loss to the New York Knicks, McCollum was one of the team’s most consistent producers. McCollum averaged 19.2 points and shot 46.5% from the field in the six-game series.
